LAKSHADWEEP PARTICIPATES IN IITF

New Delhi- 15 Nov:- The 33^rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) , the gala event was inaugurated by His Excellency President of India Shri. Pranab Mukherjee at Hamsadhwani Theater, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on 14^th November 2013 at 11 AM .

While addressing the function, the President of India said the fair has been an excellent platform for Micro, Small and Micro Eenterprises (MSMEs) to showcase their products and penetrate both domestic and international markets at attractive prices.  Shri. Mukherjee stressed that MSMEs are a source of rural empowerment, which is one of the key objectives of the government's agenda of inclusive growth. The President said he was happy to note that the theme of the IITF this year is “Inclusive Growth". He stated that inclusive growth is essential for nation's economic progress. He said ITPO has done commendable work in bringing all stakeholders together to share their experience at this important event.

Smt. Rita Menon,IAS, Chairperson & Managing Director ITPO made welcome address and introductory remarks on the gala event of IITF-2013 which will come to an end on 27-11-2013. Mr. Yasuhsa Kawamura, the Ambassador of Japan to India, Ms.Elizabeth Thabethe, Deputy Minister, Trade & Industry, South Africa, Shri. Anand Sharma, Union Minister of Commerce, Industry & Textiles, Smt.Renu Kumari, Minister of Industries, Bihar, were spoke on the occasion with special emphasis on the event and expressed their happiness to take part in the global event. Finally the Director, ITPO proposed vote of thanks.

 Among the dignitaries present on the dais were Mr.Farooque Adullah, Minister of Non Conventional Energy, Shri. Anand Sharma, Union Minister of Commerce, Elizabeth Thabethe, Dy. Minister, Trade & Industry, South Africa and Mr. S.R.Rao.

The Lakshadweep Pavilion in Hall No.21- B is attractively arranged to showcase the activities in Lakshadweep on the theme “Inclusive Growth” including the tourism in Lakshadweep representing the departments such as Industries, LDCL, Tourism Development, SPORTS, Art & Culture, Fisheries and Women & Child Development. Shri. A.M.Husaain, Assistant Director, Tourism and the Director Pavilion, Shri Asarpal Singh, DRC, Shri. F.G.Mohammed, IAP, Shri. P.Pookunhi, AGM, SPORTS, Shri. B.B.Ali, Receptionist Lakshadweep SPORTS, House, New Delhi Shri. Ahmed.P.T, and Shri. Anver Sadique. P, from Department of Industries and Shri. Ibrahim.F.R.G, LDCL are attending IITF-2013 duty at New Delhi.
