LAKSHADWEEP DAY CELEBRATIONS- MARATHON CONDUCTED

Minicoy–Dec 18:- A Mini Marathon organized in connection with Lakshadweep Day celebrations-2013 under the auspices of Regional Sports Council Minicoy on 17^th December 2013. Shri. Ramachandra Shingare, Deputy Collector flagged off the 12 Kilometer Marathon which was commenced from the Kala Mahal premises at 7.45 AM. After completion of the Marathon the prize distribution ceremony was held at 9 AM. The following are won the prizes in the competition. Master Mohammed Faharu Razi Chest No.132 of JNV won the first prize money Rs. 40000/- (Forty Thousand) by covering the distance of 12 KM in 46 Minutes 37 Seconds. Second Prize Rs. 25000/- (Twenty Five Thousand) was bagged by Shri. Ishaque Kiragothi Dekunufarathuge of FMRC, Chest No.148 within 48 minutes 01 seconds. Chest No.133 Master Shakir.K.I. won the third prize Rs.10000/- (Ten Thousand) covering the distance in 48 minutes 17 seconds. Shri. Faisal Ameen.A, Chest No. 122 Andrott,(Time 48:24) Shri. Abdusalaam.P.A-134, JNV (48:39) Shri. Hassan.D.D.K of KBC (49:42), Shri. Mohammed Shihab.S.C.Chest No. 135 JNV (49:55) and Shri. Hawa Singh, 103 Indian Navy ( 50:25) were finished the marathon 4^th to 8^th positions respectively were awarded Rs.5000/- (Five thousand) each. The prize money were distributed to the winners by Shri.L.G.Ibrahim, Chairperson, VDP and Shri.
