Minicoy-
March 8:- Shri.Anoop Thakur, Deputy Collector has released a
book on Malayalam Poems titled “ Marathakam” prepared by Master
Lukmanul Hakeem of Standard 10th of JNV Minicoy for the
first time in a simple function organized at Jawahar Navodaya
Vidyalaya on the evening of 7th February 2013 by giving
the first copy to the author Master Lukmanul Hakeem. The Book is
first of its kind in the history of JNVs. It contains 15 poems.
In
his releasing address Shri Anoop Thakur said that each student has
different talents which are to be encouraged by giving ample
opportunities to improve their talents. He appreciated the efforts of
teachers to encourage the inborn talents students especially in this
isolated Islands, the role of teachers in such attempts are
commendable, he added. He greatly appreciated the venture of Master
Lukmanu Hakeem to bring out a Book of poems and his enthusiastic
works. He wished him all success in future.
In
her presidential address Mrs Stella Hebsi Bai, Principal briefed the
achievements of JNV Minicoy since 1988 in academic and
extracurricular activities. She also expressed gratitude and
happiness towards the sincere efforts of a student of JNV to bring
out a book of poems “ Marathakam” in this particular year when
JNV celebrates its Silver Jubilee.
A
memento was presented to Master Lukmanul Hakeem to honour him by
Dr.K.K.Mohammed, Senior Mediacl Officer and executive member of MDS
which was sponsored by MDS in the function. He appreciated Master
Lukmanulm Hakeem for his efforts and said that we are proud of his
works which was released in Minicoy though the book is written in
Malayalam. This achievement of Master Lukman in his 15th
age will be a matter of proud for JNV as well as Lakshadweep.
Kumari
Shareefa and Hafeera of 8th Std recited the poem
“Marathakam” in the function. Shri, T.P.Koya, Executive Member of
PTC, JNV, Shri. M.Gandhi, PGT, English, Shri. Pavan Bharathi, Hindi
Teacher made felicitations in the function.
The
function was commenced with prayer by students followed by a welcome
address by Shri. M.V.Sailendren, Malayalam Teacher and finally Master
Lukmanul Hakeem proposed a vote of thanks. In his reply address
Master Lukmanul Hakeem explained about the circumstances which led
him to write poems and to become poetry. He also expressed sincere
thanks to those who gave him encouragement towards this success
story. The function was concluded with National Anthem at 6.PM.
Lakshadweep times congratulates Master Lukmanul Hakeem on this
special and unique endeavor.
